Tired of the folders not opening instead of Multiple clicks.Your Computer may be infested by Shortcut Virus.The following Series of Steps will help you to remove it without deleting your files.
STEP-1
Press Windows Key.Click on Accesories and Select Command Prompt.(Windows 7).
OR
Press “Win + R” to open Run Windowand Type cmd and press Enter(Windows 8).

STEP-2
Open My Computer(Use Win+E),the drives denoted by letters as Local Disk C, D etc by default. Open the directory where the shortcut virus is located.

STEP-3
Type following commands in the Command Prompt Window.
If the virus is located in “F” drive, then just type attrib-h-r-s / s / df: \ *. *. The F located before the :is the drive name,change it to the location of the shortcut virus.Press return key.
-h: unhides/show all files on drive.
-r: check the files in drive is free of read-only attribute.
-s: makes all files on drive not to be the part of the system .
f: name of the drive containing shortcut virus.
*.*: to select files of any type
STEP-4
Remove all unnecessary files, the shortcut files that you are unaware of.
Delete autorun.inf or desktop.ini files, if any.
Check the directory. All the folders are retrieved including the ones that were infested with the shortcut viruses.

First update the antivirus and then scan your computer.Windows Defender or Avast Antivirus may be used for virus detection.
